Meghan Markle is defending herself against folks who are pissed about her new work endeavors!
The Duchess of Sussex is booked and busy this year following the launch of her much-anticipated Netflix cooking show, With Love, Meghan. She’s also launched her lifestyle brand As Ever and will release the first podcast episode of her new show Confessions of a Female Founder next week. She’s even created a ShopMy page, where fans can purchase clothes and other products she’s seen using. She’s hustling!

Hitting back at critics who are upset over her return to the entertainment industry following her royal exit in 2020, Meghan told the New York Times on Wednesday:
“I need to work, and I love to work.”
It’s about as straightforward as it could be! She also doesn’t think anyone should be surprised that this is what she’s chosen to do — after all, she worked from 13 until she met Prince Harry. And her most notable work came in the form of a TV show — Suits!
Plus, she had her former lifestyle blog The Tig. Opening up about those calling her “unrelatable” and “out of touch,” she sassily wondered:
“Don’t they know my life hasn’t always been like this?”
She may be living the good life in the glamorous town of Montecito, California, these days, but before marrying Harry, she lived a very different life! Heck, even days in the royal family were tough. Whether or not fans thing she’s relatable, she certain does!
Even her momma Doria Ragland hit back at the negativity, saying:
“Everyone is coming in hot these days.”
Now that she’s a mother of two, Meghan feels like her show, podcast, and home goods company are the perfect way for her to embark on this next public-facing chapter of her life:
“This is a way I can connect my home life and my work.”
And while people may claim to hate what she’s doing and she’s faced some ups and downs professionally, the fact she’s getting another season of her show and managed to ink a podcast deal with a new company proves there’s still plenty of interest! She may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but some folks are into it!
Anyways, what else do people expect her to do?? It’s not like she can start a so-called “normal” job — though that was obviously never her plan as a young adult considering her acting career — and even if she did, they’d still find a reason to bash her for that! Harry might be a prince, but they still need to make a living for their kids and to keep up their lifestyle in their very ritzy community! Private security isn’t cheap, you know! They might as well put their fame to work!
