Mad Scientist Monster’s Masked Singer Season 13 Carnival Night Performance & Clues
Mad Scientist Monster Revealed How He Found His Purpose
Before Mad Scientist Monster came out on stage on The Masked Singer season 13’s Carnival Night, the camera zoomed in on parts of his costume, including an I.D. badge on his lab coat that at first had a picture of an orange and a peach, which referred to Florida and Georgia because of Brian’s group, Florida Georgia Line. Florida is famous for its oranges, while Georgia is known for its peaches. In his lab coat pocket, Mad Scientist Monster also had a pen with an orange decoration on top. This is because Brian is from Florida, making up the Florida half of Florida Georgia Line.
Mad Scientist Monster’s badge later had two bees in it, which referenced Florida Georgia Line’s hit with Bebe Rexha, “Meant to Be.” The two bees referenced “to be” and Bebe’s name. Mad Scientist Monster then sang a powerful rendition of “Unwell” by Matchbox Twenty.
Mad Scientist Monster began his clue package by meeting his costume. He said, “Oh, snap! You don’t look that mad to me. Becoming the Mad Scientist Monster fits perfectly for me because you have to be a little bit crazy, keep experimenting, and reinventing yourself, which is why I’m here. Let’s go win this thing.”
As the scene changed to a laboratory, Mad Scientist Monster said, “Sometimes in life, you think you have the perfect equation, that things will be simple.” He then poured a red liquid into a container. Mad Scientist Monster continued, “I was on the path to become the best in my field. My skills made the scouts go wild. It seemed like everyone wanted to recruit me to their team.” Mad Scientist Monster held a radar gun that said, “FAST,” as he said this.
Mad Scientist Monster went on to say, “But when it was time for my chance, everything combusted.” At that point a funnel of red liquid exploded in his hands. He continued, “They sidelined me. I about lost my mind. But, in the chaos, a new experiment bubbled to the surface. You see, for every action, there is a reaction.” A large fish, most likely a tarpon, then swam by in a fish tank. Brian played college baseball and was even scouted by the pros, but he switched to a music career when he was benched more than he played. The tarpon represented his home state of Florida.
Mad Scientist Monster then said, “And my reaction changed the world. I found my purpose. So, yeah, it turns out, I’m not crazy. I’m just a little, um, well, mad. So stay awhile, because there’s a high probability I’ll melt your heart.” Brian and Tyler Hubbard founded Florida Georgia Line in 2010, and music became Brian’s purpose.

At their core, boy bands are about chemistry. And I know a little something about that.”
The scene then switched to a forest filled with giant red and white mushrooms and a table with a Thanksgiving dinner on it. Mad Scientist Monster continued, “When I met my BOO!–ha ha ha, sorry, didn’t mean to scare you there–I’m talking about my girl. It was a festive fall evening, gathered around a full Friendsgiving table, and when our hands brushed passing the cranberry sauce, sparks flew.” He then pushed a bowl of cranberry sauce toward a picture of a female Mad Scientist Monster. Brian met his wife, Brittney Marie Cole, at a Thanksgiving dinner party.
The Masked Singer season 13 Group C contestant continued, “I swear, right then and there, I knew I’d marry that girl some day.” A grandfather clock with the hands spinning was then shown, and it also had a hand doing the thumbs-up signal at the bottom of it. Mad Scientist Monster continued, “But, seasons passed, until one sweltering summer day we reconnected, and I serenaded her until her Bunsons were burnin’.” Brian and his wife reconnected years after they first met. A sand castle was then shown. This referred to Brian’s first solo album in 2021, Sunshine State of Mind. Brian also has a song called “See You Next Summer” from his 2023 album, Tennessee Truth. Then, a cruise ship passed by blowing its horn. This was a reference to Florida Georgia Line’s first single, “Cruise.”
Mad Scientist Monster said, “I made her a promise I’d never leave her side, for better or worse.” He then blew kisses to her photograph. Mad Scientist Monster concluded by saying, “Now here’s an epic boy band love song for that woman I made a promise to–my wife.”

In his confessional, Mad Scientist Monster continued to pay tribute to his wife. He said, “I think I made my wife proud. She’s the love of my life. She’s my greatest muse, and my best friend. And I know she’s probably back there singing along and smiling.”

Mad Scientist Monster Spoke About A Professional Split
During The Masked Singer season 13 Group C finals on Decades Night, the Group C finalists–Mad Scientist Monster, Nessy, and Yorkie–opened the show with a rocking rendition of “My Sharona” by The Knack. Mad Scientist Monster then sang a sensational version of “Love Yourself” by Justin Bieber, which he concluded with an impressive falsetto section.
During Decades Night, Mad Scientist Monster represented the 2010s. He began his clue package by saying, “Man, I chose the 2010s because they were lit. Electric cars hit the roads, and smartphones hit the stores.” Mad Scientist Monster was then shown on a smartphone getting emoji reactions. He added, “And, it’s one of the best decades of my career. It seemed like I could conquer the world.” Brian and Tyler debuted as Florida Georgia Line in 2010, and they had great success throughout the decade.
As Mad Scientist Monster was shown holding a gold trophy, he said, “I won every award possible, except that Nobel Prize.” Florida Georgia Line has won Academy of Country Music, CMT Music, CMA, American Music, Billboard Music, Teen Choice, Canadian Country Music, ACM, American Country Countdown, and iHeartRadio Music Awards. A gold sun was then shown, which was another reference to Brian’s first solo album, Sunshine State of Mind.
In addition, the sun looked very similar to The Masked Singer season 4 winner LeAnn Rimes’ Sun costume. This is because Florida Georgia Line and LeAnn both have songs on the Mötley Crüe tribute album, Nashville Outlaws. Florida Georgia Line sang “If I Die Tomorrow,” while LeAnn sang, “Smokin’ in the Boys Room.”
Mad Scientist Monster then put on a cowboy hat as he said, “But I didn’t do it alone. And, while we had a good run together, it didn’t last forever.” Florida Georgia Line has been on hiatus since 2022, and both Brian and Tyler have since begun solo careers. The cowboy hat referenced Florida Georgia Line’s country music career.
As he texted on a smartphone, Mad Scientist Monster shared, “We had very different theories on life. I wanted to explore new avenues, and keep our grand experiment going. But we never tested that hypothesis. So, I ventured out on my own.” In 2024, Brian and Tyler confirmed that Florida Georgia Line broke up because Brian wanted to start a solo career, but there’s no animosity between them. Texts that said, “You in?” and “No, thanks” were then shown, followed by a miniature model of a silver pickup truck. The truck referred to Florida Georgia Line’s 2021 album Life Rolls On.

In these clues, Mad Scientist Monster actually said the title of Florida Georgia Line’s last album, Life Rolls On.

The Decades Night time machine brought out a clue from the 2010s, which was a DVD that had the Masked Singer logo and said, “Season 4.” Mad Scientist Monster explained, “I’ve performed with someone from season 4.” Florida Georgia Line has a song with Backstreet Boys called “God, Your Mama, and Me.” The Masked Singer season 4’s Crocodile was Backstreet Boys member, Nick Carter.
In his confessional, Mad Scientist Monster said, “You know, that falsetto … I just thought that’d be a cool moment right at the end to kinda take it to the next level, and show the judges I came here to win, so I want to stick around as long as possible.” After the audience and panelists voted, Mad Scientist Monster’s wish came true, and he made it straight through to the Lucky 6.
