Vertical has shared the official Sharp Corner trailer for its newest psychologicial thriller, starring Cobie Smulders (How I Met Your Mother) and Ben Foster (Hell or High Water). Following its world premiere at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival, the movie is now scheduled to make its debut on May 9, 2025, in select theaters and on VOD.

What happens in the Sharp Corner trailer?
The video features Smulders and Foster as a married couple whose life changes after moving into their dream home. Foster’s character Josh becomes suddenly obsessed with car crashes, after finding out that the road in front of their house is an accident prone area. Since its world premiere, the movie has garnered a Tomatometer rating of 94% on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 18 reviews.
Sharp Corner is written and directed by Jason Buxton. The cast also includes Gavin Drea, William Kosovic, Jonathan Watton, Alexandra Castillo, Gita Miller, Reid Price, and more. The movie is produced by Buxton, Paul Barkin, Marc Tereault, and Jason Levangie. The creative team also consist of director photography Guy Godfree, editor Jorge Weiz, and composer Stephen McKeon.
“The film follows Josh, a troubled man increasingly consumed by the fatal car crashes in front of his house,” reads the official synopsis. “As Josh’s obsession takes hold, he begins to spiral, placing his wife and son in jeopardy and setting in motion a series of events that threaten to permanently break the family apart.”
