Season 10 of Southern Charm was a pretty intense display of reality television, and Craig Conover was at the center of much of the discourse around the show. Now, his co-star, Rodrigo Reyes, is opening up about working with the Sewing Down South owner and discussing why so many people on the show are afraid of him.
As fans of Southern Charm know, Rodrigo joined as a main cast member for the show’s ninth season, which premiered on Bravo in 2023. So far, fans like him on the show partly because of his reactions to his castmates and their drama.
Rodrigo recently interviewed with US Weekly while at the 36th Annual GLAAD Media Awards. He discussed the show and said he got along with everyone on the cast. Still, he had a few words about Craig. Rodrigo said, “Craig wants things his way.”
Rodrigo continued, “Listen, I get that. I can be the same way, and sometimes that can come across as being domineering, I guess.” He then said, “I genuinely get along with everyone. I just feel like sometimes it’s easy to take a step back [and] not take yourself so seriously.”
Rodrigo isn’t the only Southern Charm cast member with similar sentiments about Craig. In fact, he went on to say that this was the reason cast members are “probably” hesitant around Craig. Fans will recall that the trailer for the reunion even shows Austen Kroll saying, “I am terrified of Craig. I feel like I’m just going to get backhanded for, like, stepping out of line.”
Rodrigo added in the interview, “Craig is a very busy person. His business is growing, expanding, and he’s very driven in that sense.” He went on, “And I think that’s kind of, like, his ambition. Sometimes, maybe he can stop and reflect and be there for his friends.”
The Southern Charm star also addressed Craig being against Shep Rose’s relationship with Sienna Evans. According to him, “Craig has a certain viewpoint on things. He basically made it very clear how he felt.”
Regarding Craig’s future, Rodrigo said hopefully, “Now that Craig’s single, [I hope he] spends more time with his friends [and] we can get back to us just having a good time. That’s what I’m hopeful for, and I just want everyone to have a good time.”
Part two of the Southern Charm reunion airs on April 3.
