Honkai: Star Rail – Mydei Ascension & Trace Materials

Farming Mydei’s materials in Honkai: Star Rail, for both his Ascension and Trace-leveling processes, is a vital part of unlocking his full base potential as a main DPS in team comps. Mydei is a 5-star character who deals Imaginary DMG and follows the Path of the Destruction. As is the case with most units on this Path, Mydei is specialized in dealing damage and sustaining himself through battles. However, he has a particular mechanic. Mydei’s kit in Honkai: Star Rail sees him consume his own HP at alarming rates to enhance his damage output against opponents.

The character’s rotation consists of consuming his HP and upon reaching certain thresholds of HP consumption, he enters new states. With these new states, his Skill is enhanced so as to deal more damage. All of Mydei’s abilities scale off his Max HP, so he should easily have over 7,000 Max HP. Mydei can be used in hypercarry teams, or, alternatively, he can also be paired up with Tribbie in Honkai: Star Rail, who can contribute to the team’s damage based on her own Max HP, which increases based on a portion of her team’s combined Max HP count.

Ascension Materials To Farm For Mydei In Honkai: Star Rail

You Can Optimize Some Farming Efforts In A Single Activity

Before putting him to good use, however, you will need to fully Ascend him. In order to do so, you will need to farm some materials. The first set of items used in Mydei’s Ascension process is composed of Fear-Stomped Flesh, Courage-Torn Chest, and Glory-Aspersed Torso, all of which can be farmed from Titankin enemies found across the various Amphoreus maps. For reference, Aglaea’s Ascension materials in Honkai: Star Rail also use these items, so if you’ve farmed for her, you may have some leftovers and know where to look.

The table below lists all the materials required for Mydei’s complete Ascension, divided per level threshold and condensed with the total amount at the end:

The best way to farm Fear-Stomped Flesh, Courage-Torn Chest, and Glory-Aspersed Torso is to run any of the Calyx (Golden) activities located in Amphoreus, be they Bud of Memories, Bud of Aether, or Bud of Treasures. Going through the multiple Amphoreus maps and defeating Titankin along the way can also net you these materials. It shouldn’t be too difficult to farm these three items, but they are needed for both Mydei’s Ascension and Trace-leveling processes, so be sure to farm as much as you can while you play and obtain resources in Honkai: Star Rail.

Currently, there is no way of farming Fear-Stomped Flesh, Courage-Torn Chest, and Glory-Aspersed Torso from Assignments.

The second material used in Mydei’s Ascension process is called Harbinger of Strife, and Ascension material for Imaginary characters. Harbinger of Strife can be farmed at the Stagnant Shadow: Shape of Sloggyre activity located in the Abyss of Fate map in Janusopolis on Amphoreus. Only 65 copies are needed, but given limitations on daily Trailblaze Power, you may see yourself stuck to farming for a couple of days. That can be circumvented by using up Reserved Trailblaze Power or Fuel to replenish what you have and farm more in Honkai: Star Rail.

In addition to materials, per si, you will also need to use Credits to power through the Ascension thresholds. To get through all of the Ascension barriers leading up to level 80, you will consume 308,000 Credits, plus an extra 508,000 Credits if you level up Mydei with Character EXP Materials. If you ever need more Credits, farm Calyx (Golden): Bud of Treasures – I’d recommend doing this in Amphoreus so as to coincide farming Credits with more Fear-Stomped Flesh, Courage-Torn Chest, and Glory-Aspersed Torso.

If you need more Character EXP Materials, farm Calyx (Golden): Bud of Memories on Amphoreus in Honkai: Star Rail. That way, you can also obtain more of the enemy drops.

Materials For Mydei’s Traces (Abilities) In Honkai: Star Rail

This Process Is Much More Expensive

As was previously mentioned, Fear-Stomped Flesh, Courage-Torn Chest, and Glory-Aspersed Torso are also used to upgrade Mydei’s Traces. While farming them is a vital part of the process, you should remember to use the Omni-Synthesizer to transform Fear-Stomped Flesh into Courage-Torn Chest and Courage-Torn Chest into Glory-Aspersed Torso. This also applies to other materials that are part of the same item family. You can also get more of these materials from the Embers Exchange shop in Honkai: Star Rail if needed.

The next item family to farm for Mydei’s Traces is composed of Borisin Teeth, Lupitoxin Sawteeth, and Moon Rage Fang. These are Destruction-related materials that can be farmed at the Calyx (Crimson): Bud of Destruction activity located in the Scalegorge Waterscape map on the Xianzhou Luofu. A lot of these are needed, so you may see yourself farming for several days or spending a lot of your Reserved Trailblaze Power to have enough resources to farm everything that is needed. As is the case with the previous item family, use the Omni-Synthesizer for these materials in Honkai: Star Rail, too.

At higher Trace levels, you will also need to use Auspice Sliver, a weekly boss material. Auspice Sliver can be farmed by defeating Shadow of Feixiao in the Echo of War: Inner Beast’s Battlefield activity located in the Skysplitter map on the Xianzhou Luofu. Only 12 of these are needed to fully upgrade Mydei, but given limitations on these weekly challenges, you may have to farm over the course of two or more weeks, depending on whether or not you are farming other bosses, like the Great Septimus in Honkai: Star Rail.

You will need eight Tracks of Destiny, a rare Trace material that is best farmed weekly from the Simulated Universe. You can also get more Tracks of Destiny from limited-time events and reputation systems. If you have enough resources, you can also buy some from the Embers Exchange and Starlight Exchange shops. Lastly, a total of three million Credits will be expended fully upgrading all of Mydei’s Traces in Honkai: Star Rail, so farm accordingly, preferably at the Calyx (Golden): Bud of Treasures in Amphoreus.
