This article mentions suicide.
Whether Cheong-san will return in All of Us Are Dead season 2 remains to be seen, but there is another “dead” character who should make a comeback. With at least one heartbreaking death happening in almost every episode, All of Us Are Dead sure lived up to its title throughout season 1 and killed off a lot of characters. Naturally, not all of them were protagonists. Still, we had to say goodbye to quite a few characters in the most tragic ways.
Part of what made All of Us Are Dead season 1 so engaging was not knowing which characters were going to make it. The Netflix K-drama knew when and how to raise the stakes, which is why bringing Cheong-san back in season 2 would be risky considering how big of a moment his death was in the first season. That being said, I would not mind All of Us Are Dead bringing Eun-ji back in season 2, namely because we are not even sure about what happened to her at the end of season 1.
Eun-ji’s Fate Was Left Open At The End Of All Of Us Are Dead
We Don’t Really Know What Happened To Eun-ji
Eun-ji was one of All of Us Are Dead season 1’s most tragic characters. She was a victim of bullying and assault and was considering taking her own life at the start of the show, which only didn’t happen because the zombie outbreak began right as she was about to do it. A couple of hours into the apocalypse, Eun-ji was attacked by a horde of zombies and was left to die. However, she somehow survived and became one of the first known examples of a hambie in All of Us Are Dead.

Cho Yi-hyun | Choi Nam-ra |
Lomon | Lee Su-hyeok |

Min Eun-ji | Oh Hye-soo |

Jeon Bae-soo | Nam So-ju |
From then on, all her rage and drive for revenge turned into strength, which may very well be why she resisted the Jonas virus and became a hambie in the first place. Since she was an asymptomatic zombie, she was able to enter the military camp despite all the safety measures. The military only realized Eun-ji had the Jonas virus when she attacked Cheol-soo in front of everyone. This is when Eun-ji was taken to be experimented on, after which we only saw her in a holding cell. In the finale, Eun-ji’s cell was empty.
Eun-ji’s Story Isn’t Over And Should Continue In All Of Us Are Dead Season 2
Eun-ji Could Be A Wild Card In Season 2
While we can assume that the military simply killed Eun-ji once they were done with the experiments, I don’t think that her story is over. Killing off one of the show’s most important characters offscreen would be a mistake, even more so because Eun-ji can still play a significant role on the show. For example, we don’t know how Eun-ji truly feels about killing Cheol-soo. All of Us Are Dead season 2 could even double down on Eun-ji’s quest for revenge, this time with her taking on the soldiers that imprisoned and experimented on her.
Having Eun-ji’s story be concluded offscreen after we spent so much time with her in All of Us Are Dead season 1 would be very disappointing.
It is also worth noticing that All of Us Are Dead season 2 will likely focus on the hambies, meaning Eun-ji would be a great addition to the story. With Gwi-nam dead and Nam-ra having learned how to control her powers, Eun-ji is currently the only known “evil hambie” that we have on the show. Considering that Nam-ra is trying to suppress her powers with the help of other hambies, it could be fun to have Eun-ji embrace her zombie instincts even further.
I’m Fine With All Of Us Are Dead Bringing Back Cheong-san And Eun-ji In Season 2
All Of Us Are Dead Has Other Ways To Raise The Stakes
All of Us Are Dead bringing back not one but two characters who died in season 1 might not sound like a great idea given how it would risk lowering the stakes of the show. Granted, Cheong-san returning in season 2 as if nothing had happened would indeed be anticlimactic. However, there are ways to bring him back without pretending he didn’t fall from a construction site during an explosion. For example, Cheong-san could return as a hambie, meaning he wouldn’t be able to reunite with his friends and would only be a ghost of his former self.

Why All Of Us Are Dead Season 2 Is Taking So Long
More than two years after All of Us Are Dead was renewed, the Netflix K-drama still doesn’t have a release date. But why is season 2 taking so long?
Likewise, there are a lot of interesting roles that Eun-ji could play in season 2. She could be one of the main villains, assuming she would embrace her hambie identity like Gwi-nam did. Eun-ji could also be a morally ambiguous character – someone who went through a lot of pain and is now going after whoever does her wrong regardless of what she has to do. Either way, having Eun-ji’s story be concluded offscreen after we spent so much time with her in All of Us Are Dead season 1 would be very disappointing.
