Yeah, I Don’t Think So

Don’t expect Patti LuPone to return to the American Horror Story universe anytime soon.

In a new interview, the Broadway star seemingly shut down the possibility that she would come back to the FX anthology series for Season 13.

During an interview with Gold Derby, the reporter asked LuPone if she would return to American Horror Story, adding that creator Ryan Murphy wanted “to bring the group back together for Season 13.”

“What group is that, though?” LuPone asked.

The outlet suggested it was the “really, really cool people,” but LuPone didn’t buy it and said, “Yeah, I don’t think so,” adding, “I think he was probably talking about the guys.”

LuPone first appeared in American Horror Story: Coven (Season 3) playing the role of Joan Ramsey. The Agatha All Along actress returned to the horror series in Season 11 for American Horror Story: NYC.

Before working with Murphy on AHS, LuPone appeared as herself in an episode of Glee in 2011. She also worked with Murphy on Pose and Hollywood.

In the interview with Gold Derby, LuPone acknowledged the parallels between her characters in American Horror Story and Agatha All Along, saying, “Well, I just finished that season with the tarot cards, I feel like a witch — it’s all lining up.”

LuPone is not the only American Horror Story alum who doesn’t think she’ll return to the anthology series; Jessica Lange has also shut down the possibility of a return.

While appearing at the Glasgow Film Festival for the premiere of Long Day’s Journey Into Night, an Irish radio station asked her if she would be returning to the horror series.

“Oh Christ, no,” Lange said. “I mean, I haven’t done it for more than 10 years, 12 years, so, no, I’m not doing it.”

The interviewer told Lange that Season 13 of American Horror Story could be the final one for the series and asked if that would move her to return.

“No,” Lange said with a laugh.

Lange appeared in a total of five seasons of American Horror Story, starting with the inaugural season in 2011, which was retroactively subtitled Murder House.
