The western parts of the state will see a better chance of showers and storms on Saturday with central and eastern North Carolina looking at more isolated storm chances.
Shower and storm chances will increase for those areas on Saturday night and Sunday and will decrease for the western half of the state on Sunday.
This unsettled weather is expect to linger into early next week.

‘They were wonderful’: Eden community remembers linemen killed in crash
Last Thursday Michael Ray Vernon, 66, ran a stop sign with his Eden city dump truck when a crash occurred taking the lives of four linemen and injuring two others. Meanwhile, the families of the victims, along with the Eden community, are still grappling with the magnitude of the loss. Read more >>>

Preserving the past: Woman on mission to restore Asheville’s historically Black cemeteries
South Asheville Cemetery is one of the oldest African American cemeteries in western North Carolina. Phyllis Utley is working to restore roughly 30 cemeteries in the mountains after Helene. Headstones were destroyed after Helene ripped through the area. Read more >>>
