The new Transformers series from Daniel Warren Johnson and Mike Spicer from Skybound/Image Comics does rather like its spoiler covers. High ratio variant covers that reveal some key moment from the comic book within, And while they get listed as the following, in the Previews catalogues…
….they generally turn up on eBay the weekend before publication in all their spoileriffic glory. Though to be fair, at this stage, Skybound knows it is going to happen. And so a copy is currently on sale for $80 with a cent change. Unrevealed copies have sold for $60, but it might get a little more attention now. As it looks a bit like this. I mean, it looks exactly like this. No more than meets the eye.
Which rather looks like it is the lost Decepticon Transformer, and usual leader of the Decepticons, Megatron. Or at least a heavily damaged version of the weapon-Transforming fan-favourite. Doing his best impression of Captain America. Or possibly Jetfire/Skyfire, as it seems that the dynamic of those two Transformers has been reversed in this new series… with Jetfire awoken on another planet in Void Rivals and waking up the rest of the Transformers on Earth, missing Megatron. As Willy Wonka says, “scratch that, reverse it”…
