According to the Sheriff’s Office, the man, driving a stolen car, jumped out and ran after a PIT maneuver. He was chased down and arrested.
LAURENS COUNTY, Ga. — A man was arrested Sunday evening after fleeing from the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office, Major Alan Baggett said.
According to a Facebook post from the sheriff’s office, deputies tried to pull over the man, who was driving a stolen vehicle on I-16 sometime before 9 p.m. on Sunday. After not pulling over, deputies executed a PIT maneuver.
Baggett said after the PIT maneuver, the man got out of the car and ran from the deputies.
He said the Georgia State Patrol joined in with the Sheriff’s Office and set up a perimeter around the area. He was eventually caught and arrested sometime after 9 p.m.
Baggett could not provide the name or age of the driver. He also did not say what the man was charged with.
