Reporter loses four-carat diamond on the 2024 Golden Globes red carpet: ‘It’s gone’

Keltie Knight, a correspondent for E! News was reporting from the Golden Globes when the expensive diamond in her ring went missing. 

When Knight noticed her four-carat diamond wasn’t on her finger, she issued a plea for help finding it in an Instagram video, citing it a “Golden Globe emergency.”

“If you’re a celebrity and you see a 4-carat diamond on the red carpet, please return it to Keltie Knight at E!,” she continues. “‘Cause it’s gone and, um… it’s real.”

After asking for help in finding it from celebrities arriving at the ceremony at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, she also shared an Instagram story.

It was captioned, “Humble brag but also help!”

E! News also posted her article that detained the missing diamond along with clues to its disappearance. 

“E! News’ Keltie Knight had a major jewellery malfunction at the 2024 Golden Globes walking the red carpet before the Jan. 7 ceremony and would love a star to help a host out finding her missing diamond.”

The first clue shared in her stories explained it had disappeared between her getting ready and arriving on the red carpet.

“Clue #1: I had the diamond when I finished makeup because we cleaned it,” she wrote, adding, “When I did photos it was gone.”

The next story, later on in the event showed her on all fours, scouring the ground for her missing jewel, whilst still in her red carpet look.

“Looking for [the] diamond,” she wrote alongside the picture. Telling fans it was unfortunately still missing.

After the event wrapped up, she shared another story whilst enjoying a burger.

“Update: Finished the red carpet and now in [the] bath with a @jerseymikes + still no diamond.”

A video posted to her Instagram captures the last video of the diamond before she left for the event, it showed her getting ready with the ring still whole.

She later asked fans in a poll what they would do if they came across the diamond, asking them to “be honest.”

The options included return it, keep it and return it / feel bad, 93 per cent of fans responded that they would do the right thing and return it.
