Soroptimist International of Red Bluff recently presented $1,000 Soroptimist Live Your Dream: Education and Training Awards for Women to help a local woman improve her economic situation.
Recipient Ivory Spriggs will use the cash award to pursue a LVN certificate at the Institute of Technology. She will complete the program in August 2025. The Live Your Dream Award provides women who serve as the primary wage earners for their families with the financial resources to offset costs associated with their efforts to attain higher education or additional skills and training. The award can be used for tuition, books, childcare, carfare or any other education-related expense.
The Red Bluff Soroptimists chose Spriggs because of her optimistic attitude, her hard-working determination, and the excellent recommendations she received. Ivory is working while continuing her education and is also raising three children. Spriggs will now advance to the Soroptimist Sierra Nevada level, where recipients can receive up to $5,000. The program culminates with three finalist $10,000 awards at the national level.
