The Percy Jackson films received mixed reviews when they were released in 2010 and 2013.
Fans of the book were outraged by multiple casting choices, and although the movies received decent reviews as stand alone films, reader’s weren’t happy.
Rick Riordan’s series, which inspired the movies, was beloved worldwide, so movie makers had some big shoes to fill.
Unfortunately, they seemed to fall short in a few areas.
Nonetheless, Riordan and the filmmakers persisted to the second novel before it just wasn’t viable to make a third.
Lucky for book fans, though, a new TV series has just been released on Disney+ and viewers are already raving about its similarities to the novels.
Many members of the original cast have come out in support of the series, wishing the young actors the best of luck.
