MONROE COUNTY, Ga. — The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help in looking for a woman involved in a single-vehicle car accident Saturday morning.
According to a post on Facebook, deputies are looking for Shirley Obert, 67, who was involved in a car accident around 8:30 a.m. on Saturday. According to Anna Watkins, the sheriff’s office isn’t exactly sure why she left, but they believe she may have been distressed. Watkins could not confirm why.
Watkins said that the Georgia State Patrol and the Georgia Department of Natural Resources are helping the sheriff’s office look in the area near Abercrombie and Oxford Road in Culloden, Georgia. She also said that an aviation unit is helping them search.
The sheriff’s office said Obert was last seen wearing a reddish shirt and black pants, which they said looked like a Chick-fil-A uniform.
The sheriff’s office asks that if anyone knows any information about her whereabouts, to contact the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office at 478-994-7010. They added that if anyone has information, they can also contact the sheriff’s office through Facebook, Instagram or the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office App.
This is a developing story. 13WMAZ will provide updates as we receive them.
