Michelle Trachtenberg had been reminiscing about the past just before her tragic death.
As we’ve been reporting, the 39-year-old actress was found dead at a luxury apartment complex in New York City on Wednesday. A cause of death has not been confirmed, but reports say she died of natural causes — after suffering complications from a recent liver transplant. Heartbreaking.

Before Michelle passed away, it appears she had been sharing a lot of throwback photos of herself, more so than usual! Last week, the Gossip Girl alum took to Instagram to post a cropped photo of herself rocking a green gown at the Los Angeles premiere of her 2013 movie Killing Kennedy, writing in the caption:
“I wanted to look like naughty #tinkerbell #throwback.”
That unfortunately was the last post she left for fans before she passed away. Check it out HERE and see the red carpet photo of the look (below):
Michelle looks so stunning as always!
She continued to post old pics, including a blurry headshot on February 16 that said, “#sundayscaries ain’t got nothing on me!” The day before, she shared another photo of herself in an ice blue Marchesa evening dress at the School Of American Ballet’s Winter Ball in 2011 — which made her feel like a princess! Take a look HERE! Michelle expressed in the post:
“A memory, a magical night in #newyork. I remember feeling like Cinderella! Wishing everyone an ethereal weekend #throwback”
And there are a ton of other throwback snaps from Michelle over the past two months, including “one of my favorite photo shoots” from years ago or one of her at the Art of Elysium Gala in Los Angeles in 2020.

She even dropped a photo with her Buffy the Vampire Slayer co-star Sarah Michelle Gellar back in January! Wow!

We don’t know why exactly Michelle decided to give fans all these throwbacks lately… Sadly we may never know. However, it does say a lot about where her mind may have been at during her final weeks. Did a part of her possibly know her health was deteriorating? Was she choosing to look back on some fond memories? Hmm.
Michelle will be missed so much. Reactions to the photos, Perezcious readers? Share them in the comments.
