Lost Fantasy Reveals “Giant F*cking Sword” Homage Variants

The new ongoing series Lost Fantasy from Image Comics will be hitting shelves on April 30th, 2025, giving readers a chance to experience a unique take on high fantasy for the very first time. It will also feature a very large sword.

The series, by creators Curt Pires (Indigo Children), Luca Casalanguida (James Bond), Mark Dale and Micah Myers, blends the violence and mythology of Something is Killing the Children with the epic structures of East of West. For over 100 years, our world has been in contact with another, and for almost as long, The Great Hunters have been keeping us safe from the creatures that lurk in the shadows. Lost Fantasy follows monster hunter Henry Blackheart on his quest to stop one that just broke through… but something far more sinister might be at play beyond what appears on the surface.

The Beat has learned that to celebrate the launch of this new ongoing, the first issues of Lost Fantasy will feature a series of “Giant F*cking Sword” homage covers, paying tribute to one of the raddest weapons ever conceived. Crossing mediums and genres, these covers will feature nods to several different properties, all drawn by Indigo Children co-creator Alex Diotto.

Final orders are due from retailers on Monday, April 7th 2025, with the book on shelves Wednesday April 30th, 2025.
