Katie Maloney offered an update on her relationship with Lala Kent during a podcast appearance on Tuesday.

Following the dramatic season 11 reunion of Vanderpump Rules, which saw Lala, 33, calling out Katie, 37, for things said about her friend and business partner, Ariana Madix, 38, off-camera, Katie admitted to feeling Lala lacked authenticity and blasted Lala for attempting to make her look bad on three separate occasions.

“I haven’t spoken to her since the reunion,” Katie confirmed on the July 2 episode of Not Skinny But Not Fat. “I didn’t see that coming.”

Although Lala mentioned a falling out between them, Katie clarified that it had occurred six months before the season.

“I think she thinks because when you didn’t see it, it didn’t happen, [but] we resolved,” Katie shared. “In San Francisco, we had a moment on the boat that was much longer than what you saw. There was plenty of resolve. Sometimes it just takes a little time to get fully back on track with someone.”

Looking back at the final moments of the season, Katie said Lala was “harboring certain feelings and thinking certain things” that she wasn’t aware of.

“She was saving them for the reunion, which I didn’t feel was super authentic,” Katie noted. “I know that as somebody that’s on a show, I guess that’s one thing, but to sit there and be called an inauthentic person or fake, but meanwhile I’m sitting next to somebody who I thought I knew and knew very well and was open and honest with me, but had been feeling a certain way about me for a very long time, that was shocking.”

According to Katie, she’s not sure she can forgive Lala for the events of Pump Rules season 11.

“For violating my trust? No. Once you violate my trust like that, it’s very hard to come back from,” she noted. “Trust is the most important thing to me and when you try to manipulate me with that and use it against me and say, ‘We talked about these things,’ we talked about it in private … those weren’t the kind of conversations that were meant for [the] camera. Not everything is.”

“I’m allowed to have some kind of privacy and talk about emotions with people,” she continued. “I have plenty of those conversations with you as well where you’re able to discuss things with me that are private and I would never make public just for the sake of television.”

In addition to finding it shocking that Lala threw her under the bus at the reunion, Katie wondered why Lala waited until then to have an issue.

“I was just grossed [out]. I was icked out. You could’ve also brought this up literally any time last season. It would’ve been a hell of a lot more relevant. I half expected her to do that, but I felt like, ‘Okay, well maybe she’s being respectful of that being a private conversation,’” Katie admitted. “The last thing I remember talking to her about, she goes, ‘Were you able to talk to Ariana, did you guys get things sorted?’ I was like, ‘Yeah, we’re on a great path at this point.’ She goes, ‘Good. As long as you feel good, I feel good.’”

Although Katie assured Lala that she had shared her concerns with Ariana, which allegedly stemmed from frustrations that she was away so frequently as they were trying to open their sandwich shop, that didn’t appear to be good enough for Lala.

“It just felt like it was such a tactic,” Katie shared of Lala’s decision to bring up her private comments at the reunion.

Katie went on to say that Lala brought up three instances to make her look bad at the taping.

“She brought up her and I’s private conversations, she brought up our falling out from a year and a half prior where I called her a clown, which was way out of context, and then she brought up a conversation that we had on the phone with our producer, Jeremiah, these were the three instances she brought up in an attempt to make me look bad.”

Also during the podcast, Katie was asked if she understood Lala’s side, signaling to her not getting the love of the people after her 2021 split from Randall Emmett, 53, in the way that Ariana did after Tom Sandoval, 41, cheated on her with Rachel “Raquel” Leviss, 29.

“Fully,” Katie confirmed. “And I’ve talked to her about this, of course, we spoke about how crazy the public response was to it all and the media surrounding [‘Scandoval] and we’re just like, ‘Damn, this is all nuts.’ And then we just were talking about how it can be so hard putting your life and intimate moments and things that you deal with on a TV show like that, and her thing with Randall and the public response to her was like, ‘You should’ve known.’ ‘How could you have not known?’ and ‘You lose ‘em how you get ‘em.’”

“That’s so difficult when you’re dealing with something that’s already difficult to have that be the response. But she didn’t ask for that in the same way that Ariana didn’t ask for this response,” Katie added.
