John Stewart, Green Lantern, has been testing the limits of his powers. But he now goes where no Green Lantern has gone before. Not like this, anyway. Just as Hal Jordan has been testing his new abilities, so John Stewart takes that but goes far further, with his newly formed and experimental power ring. Previously, in Green Lantern: War Journal #1, he had created a vision of his late sister for their mother, suffering with dementia.
But in Green Lantern: War Journal #5 out today, he goes far further than that.
A Green Lantern is limited only by their will to do something. And John Stewart has quite the will, when the mood is upon him. Such as the desires and needs of a mother with dementia. And I get that.
Well, if some mutants on an island over in the Marvel Universe can work it out, so can John Stewart, Green Lantern.
He’s brought back his sister from the dead, or as close as he can get, to look after his mother when he is not there. The writer has created a character from his own mind, splitting his personality, who can act independently. Well, once you have done that, what else can you do? Where else can you go?
Well, it’s always good to be a One Man Green Lantern Corps.
