Incoming restaurant in Houston County announces opening date

The restaurant, known for it’s ButterBurgers and frozen custard, will open in just a few weeks. Find out when you can enjoy.

WARNER ROBINS, Ga. — ButterBurger and frozen custard fans in Houston County won’t have to wait long before they can indulge in their own Culver’s location.

On their website, the new Culver’s coming to Highway 96 in Warner Robins announced that they’ll be opening up on Monday, March 17.

The fast-food restaurant announced in September 2024 that a location would be opening by the Kroger on Hwy 96. Six months later, they’ll finally open their doors to the Warner Robins and Houston County community.

This is the second Culver’s to open up in Central Georgia, as it joins the Macon location on Northside Drive, which opened in 2021. It’s also the 24th overall location in the state of Georgia.

The chain, which originated in Sauk City, Wisconsin, is well known for bringing its Wisconsin staples to multiple parts of the country. Owner and founder Craig Culver, according to Culver’s website, prides himself on “fresh, never frozen beef” and acquiring the dairy for their frozen custard and cheese curds from Wisconsin dairy farms.

The restaurant’s most popular offerings are their “ButterBurger,” a basic hamburger sometimes caramelized with a bit of butter and topped with a buttered and toasted bun. Customers can order one, two or three patties and can customize the burger to their choosing, or choose from the restaurant’s multiple selections, including their sourdough melts.

Another staple is their freshly made frozen custard, which is similar to soft serve ice cream, but contains egg yolks and is creamier as a result. Customers can order sundaes, milkshakes and concrete mixers, which is when the frozen custard is mixed with various toppings like hot fudge, M&M’s, raspberries and more. Customers can also order root beer or orange Fanta floats.

Each day, Culver’s has a special Flavor of the Day. On their first day, they’ll have a mint cookie flavor. Other notable ones are Georgia Peach on Wednesday, March 19, popular candy flavors like Really Reese’s and OREO Cookie Overload on Friday, March 21 and Sunday, March 23, respectively and Chocolate Covered Strawberry on Monday, March 24, to kick off their second week being open.

The restaurant also sells Wisconsin cheese curds, which are similar to mozzarella sticks, but in smaller bite-sized form. They also sell other sides like crinkle cut fries, pretzel bites and their “George’s Chili.”

For those not feeling beef, Culver’s has a variety of chicken sandwiches, chicken tenders and even a veggie burger. They also offer cod sandwiches and butterfly jumbo shrimp.
