
Hugh Laurie has been announced as the lead of Apple TV+’s new thriller series, The Wanted Man. This will be the House actor’s second collaboration with the streaming giant after working on Season 3 of its thriller drama, Tehran. The Wanted Man will be directed by Jakob Verbruggen, who is known for his work on Dark Matter, London Spy, and more. Apart from Laurie, six other stars have joined the cast of the upcoming show.
Hugh Laurie-led The Wanted Man series coming to Apple TV+
Apple TV+ recently announced a new thriller series with The Night Manager actor as the lead.
As per the official press release, the upcoming series, The Wanted Man, will have a total of eight episodes. It will be produced by New Pictures and George Kay’s company, Observatory Pictures. He is also taking on the role of the writer and showrunner of the series. Moreover, Kay will be the executive producer of the project alongside Matt Sandford and Willow Grylls.
Apart from Hugh Laurie, the series has a talented star cast including Fionn Whitehead, Thandiwe Newton, Gina McKee, Elliott Heffernan, Stephen Dillane, and Hazel Doupe. As per the logline provided in the press release, the series will focus on Felix Carmichael, played by Laurie. He is the leader of a British crime network, The Capital, in the show.
Furthermore, the logline states, “Untouchable for 20 years, Carmichael is finally apprehended, but while he’s held in the infamous Staplehurst prison, it becomes clear that he’s been betrayed by one of his own. As the traitor moves to dismantle the empire he has built, Carmichael must risk everything in a daring escape. Willing to stop at nothing to take his revenge, if he succeeds, he’ll be a wanted man once more.”
However, no release date is attached to The Wanted Man as of writing.
