Gisele Bundchen reveals she had a near death experience on a photoshoot in Iceland on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon

Gisele Bundchen has opened up about the time she almost died during a modelling job in the late 1990s.

Playing a game of True Confessions on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the supermodel was told to read out a crazy scenario, then Fallon and Bundchen’s fellow Tonight Show guest Wayne Brady were tasked with figuring out if it was the truth.

“I did a photo shoot on a fake iceberg in Iceland and I almost fell off into the ocean,” Bundchen read from the card.

She hesitated to remember the year in which it happened, which made Brady think it could have been a lie, before recalling it was 1997 or 1998.

The guessing duo continued to ask questions, unveiling it was a photoshoot to promote Lanvin’s Oxygene Fragrance.

She noted she was surrounded by real icebergs, explaining that if she had fallen, she would have been “dead in seconds.”

“You know what happens inside of the freezing water of the icebergs? [In] seconds you’re dead. Dead!” she laughed.

Fallen and Brady were quick to assume the mother of two was lying, to which she exclaimed “no!’ and revealed it was in fact a true story.

She went on to give further details, sharing that she was wearing a slip dress during the photoshoot while the rest of the crew were in life vests and puffer jackets on a boat.

“But I’m alive,” she added at the end of her story.

Bundchen retired from modelling back in 2015. She started her career at just 14 years old.

Her decision to retire came as she decided to focus on raising her two children, Benjamin and Vivian, alongside her then-husband Tom Brady.

The couple were married in 2009 but later announced their shock divorce in October 2022.
