Girls basketball: Hartford, KML clinch conference titles

The Hartford girls basketball team won the North Shore Conference title outright with an 88-38 win over Slinger on Feb. 20. Hartford finished the regular season with a 17-1 conference record and a 21-3 overall mark. Slinger finished seventh in the conference with a 5-13 conference record and an 8-16 overall mark

Kettle Moraine Lutheran (KML) won the East Central Conference title with an 80-49 win over Winneconne on Feb. 20. Makenzie Luehring led the Chargers with 30 points. KML finished the regular season with a 12-0 conference record and a 23-1 overall mark.

 

Other results:

Menomonee Falls defeated Sussex Hamilton on Feb. 20, 60-48. Falls finished the regular season fourth in the Greater Metro Conference with a 10-6 conference record and a 14-9 overall mark. Hamilton finished sixth in the Greater Metro with a 7-9 conference record and a 12-12 overall mark.

Living Word Lutheran finished the regular season with a 55-48 non conference win over Ozaukee on Feb. 20. Living Word finished third in the Midwest Classic Conference with a 12-4 conference record while having a 16-8 overall mark.

Postseason brackets
The WIAA finalized postseason brackets by Feb. 17.In Division I, Hartford is seeded third in its bracket and will host Kaukauna, Germantown is seeded ninth and will pay at Bay Port, Menomonee Falls is seeded 11th and will play at Homestead while Hamilton is seeded 13th and will play at Brookfield East. All of those games will be on Feb.28.

In Division 2, West Bend East is seeded 11th and will pay at Port Washington while Slinger is seeded ninth and will play at West Bend West, with both of those games on Feb. 25. In Division 3, Kettle Moraine Lutheran is seeded first and will begin postseason play on Feb. 28 against the winn over the Carmen Northwest/Brookfield Academy game three days earlier. In Division 4, Living Word Lutheran is seeded sixth and will host 10th seed Montello on Feb. 25.
