“Once I was on set and Natalie Portman was like, ‘You know I just can’t think of anyone else to do Evelyn Hugo,’” she continued. “I was like, ‘Natalie Portman is saying that to me! That’s really fire.’”
And as long as Eiza was dreamcasting herself into the project—which spans multiple decades of the main character’s life and journeys through her multiple marriages—she thought it pertinent to share who she’d like to play the older version of Evelyn.
“I’ve thought of both characters quite a lot, and it’s really hard to decide. There’s so many amazing actresses,” Eiza shared, mentioning Eva Longoria, Salma Hayek and Sofía Vergara. “There’s so many amazing actresses.”
Regardless of what happens, though, Eiza just wants to make sure the project, like Taylor’s other book adaptation Daisy Jones & The Six, is given the right treatment.
