DOOMSDAY casting announcements are finally here!

Marvel has begun to announce their cast for the upcoming AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY film, slated for a 2026 release. There had been rumors since March 25th that the studio will be dropping some massive news the following day, possibly bigger than the Robert Downey Jr. reveal as Dr. Viktor Von Doom during San Diego Comic Con 2024.

Jump to March 26th at 11:30AM EST/8:30AM PST, Marvel studios would begin streaming on their official YouTube and X/Twitter account for the AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY cast announcement. The Stream would begin in a dimly lit room with the camera facing the back of a single cast member’s seat with their name displayed on the back. At random intervals, the musical cue or motif for that respective character would play, leading up to the camera doing a truck shot to the following cast member’s seat of the character tied to that theme or musical motif. Then the process would repeat again of minutes of silence and staring at the seat, before another cue plays, followed by another reveal.

For AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY, here are the revealed cast and their characters so far. This list is sorted by the group or faction within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Let me tell you, some of these announcements caught me by surprise and had me choke on my lunch like Ildris Elba at Hot Ones.

Avengers

  • Anthony Mackie as Captain America
  • Chris Hemsworth as Thor Odinson
  • Danny Ramirez as Falcon
  • Paul Rudd as Ant-Man (Scott Lang)
  • Simu Liu as Shang-Chi

  • David Harbour as The Red Guardian
  • Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes

  • Lewis Pullman as Sentry (Bob)

Fantastic Four

  • Pedro Pascal as Mister Fantastic (Reed Richards)
  • Vanessa Kirby as The Invisible Woman (Sue Storm)
  • Joseph Quinn as The Human Torch (Johnny Storm)
  • Ebon Moss-Bachrach as The Thing
  • Robert Downey Jr. as Dr.Victor von Doom

  • Kelsey Grammar as Beast
  • Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler
  • Rebecca Romjin as Mystique (Raven Darkholme)
  • Channing Tatum as The Gambit

TVA

  • Tom Hiddleston as Loki Odinson

This is a very stacked cast, larger than that of AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR and ENDGAME. Marvel has also intentionally or unintentionally spoiled the fate of the main Thunderbolts team for the upcoming Thunderbolts* film, as many of them would have a role to play in Doomsday. Hinting that possibly Thunderbolts* will be essential viewing leading up to Doomsday. Also, to my surprise, we got confirmation that the X-men from the Fox Universe will be involved in the story as well with the surprise announcement of Sir Patrick Stewart, Sir Ian McKellan, Kelsey Grammar, and Rebecca Romjin reprising their roles from those films, but also Magneto, Mystique, and Cyclops’ official debut within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In addition, the fact that Channing Tatum returns as The Gambit from Deadpool and Wolverine, making his portrayal of the character more official within the MCU.

Last but not least here are some honorable mentions of characters and actors whose names have been dropped in the stream chats but sadly have not been confirmed for AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY.

Honorable Mentions who didn’t make the cut!

  • Tobey Maguire as Spider-man
  • Walton Goggles as Sandman
  • Mike Tyson as Blade
  • IShowSpeed for some reason
  • Vin Diesel as Dom Toreto
  • Ben Affleck as Daredevil
  • Cilian Murphy as Tommy Shelby
  • Christopher Walken as Stan Lee
  • Tom Brady as Eddie Brock/Venom
  • Dwane The Rock Johnson
  • J.K Simmons as Omni-Man
  • and Ben Whishaw as Paddington

Sorry fans, maybe in AVENGERS: SECRET WARS will your fan casts come true. Until Next time my fellow nerds!
