They say that her charges include identity theft, credit card theft, credit card fraud and more.
MACON, Ga. — A Cordele woman was arrested for identity theft, credit card theft and more, according to a press release from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
The report says that DeAundra Smith, 25, has been arrested and accused of 125 charges including 38 counts of identity theft, 19 counts of computer trespass, 18 counts of financial transaction card theft and 50 counts of financial transaction card fraud.
They say that the Tifton Police Department asked the GBI to investigate on Jan. 16, 2025, and they found that Smith, a Cordele native, had stolen personal information from customers at her job using her computer, and was using their information to pay her bills.
Per the report, some of Smith’s victims – which included elderly people among them – had no idea that they were victims prior to the investigation.
Smith was arrested on Jan. 24, 2025, according to the report, and she has been booked in the Tifton County Jail.
