Chris Hughes: 5 Facts About JoJo Siwa’s Celebrity Big Brother Costar

Chris Hughes and JoJo Siwa’s friendship took center stage on Celebrity Big Brother UK.

While appearing on the reality TV show across the pond in 2025, Hughes and Siwa formed a close bond — with viewers watching the pair get cozy in bed, give each other makeovers and share secret handwritten messages. Siwa, who was in a relationship with Kath Ebbs at the time of filming, called it quits with her partner during the wrap party.

Hughes, for his part, said his connection to Siwa is “hard to explain” while appearing on the UK’s This Morning.

“It’s just a really strong bond between two people, which is just a strong friendship. And I think you can have, like, a soulmate friendship. I think that’s a thing,” he said. “Having someone in [the house] to go through an experience like that and have someone there every day when you’re emotional when you’re down when you’re happy — that was beautiful.”

In 2019, Hughes shared a tribute to his brother, who had been diagnosed with cancer. Alongside the message, Hughes shared throwback photos of the twosome.

“A sad day. My brother was diagnosed with testicular cancer this lunchtime, in which we pray for a kind prognosis. He came into my room at 3am the morning after my testicular examination on tv, clearly struggling to sleep, telling me he’d found a lump and asked me if he’s checking it right. To which I told him, ‘Ben, it’s 3am, I’ll look in the morning, but if there’s a lump, go and check it checked tomorrow with the doctor,’” Hughes wrote via Instagram. “Today he sent me a message telling me the news, and thanking me for making him aware, else he’d never have known he had cancer.. That literally broke my heart. Testicular cancer is a silent killer, men need realise this and check themselves regularly. It takes 10 seconds. Please do it. 🖤.”

The pair were later at the center of BBC’s Documentary Me, My Brother and Our Balls.
