After an indefinite hiatus that felt like an eternity to his legion of funk-loving fans, GRiZ has announced a new three-day music festival, Seven Stars, and its inaugural lineup.
The first-ever Seven Stars event is scheduled for October 10-12 in Arrington, Virginia, just south of Charlottesville. The beloved DJ, producer and saxophonist, whose career has spanned over a decade of genre-bending releases and festival headlines, describes Seven Stars as “a reflection of my life’s work” and “a culmination of everything I’ve wanted to share.”
The GRiZ-curated lineup features Subtronics, Of The Trees, Levity, Hamdi, INZO, Wooli, Mary Droppinz, Maddy O’Neal, Disco Lines, Dr. Fresch, LYNY and EDM.com Class of 2025 stars Tape B and ALLEYCVT, among others. Check out the full lineup below.
Seven Stars Festival
The 18+ festival will feature three stages, including one called Ouroboros, which takes its name from an EP GRiZ released in 2023. Designed for afterhours raving under the night sky, it will come to life after the Mainstage’s final performance each day.
Seven Stars, however, promises to deliver much more than just DJ sets. According to GRiZ’s enthusiastic announcement, attendees can expect “secret missions and lore,” workshops led by Kulabunga facilitators and the “shenanigans” that have become his trademark at other festivals.
According to the festival’s website, Seven Stars was built on seven “pillars”: Inclusion, Sovereign Self, Sharing, Leave No Trace, Curiosity, Kula (Unified Heart) and Bunga (Wild Abandon). Attendees will be able to partake in various wellness workshops and outdoor adventures like morning yoga sessions, guided meditations, nature walks and crafting. The setting itself—described as “green and natural, tons of trees, rolling hills”—seems chosen specifically to enhance this immersive experience.
Seven Stars will offer onsite camping passes and hotel packages. A pre-sale will begin March 19th before the general on-sale on March 21st. Fans can now register here and find out more via the festival’s official website.
