Amanda’s Entertaining Love Life
Florida Man
While filming 1000-lb Sisters season 4, Amanda quietly finalized her divorce from Jason Halterman. They ended things after 22 years of marriage and four sons. It wasn’t long before Amanda met RJ, and she fell in love with the Florida man. During 1000-lb Sisters season 6, Amanda announced she’d be moving from Kentucky to Florida to be with him. The couple seemed solid when Amanda posted a now-deleted photo of her and her then-boyfriend on TikTok, taken during a happier phase. The image is of RJ and Amanda on the beach.
Amanda was happy with RJ, but her happiness would be short-lived.
In June 2024, Amanda posted a TikTok explaining how RJ ghosted her. He allegedly left town to visit his family and never returned. She tried contacting him, but he wouldn’t respond. With her heart broken, Amanda packed up her things and headed back to her family in Kentucky. Amanda’s endlessly entertaining love life was one of the reasons she got extra screen time during 1000-lb Sisters season 6, and it may get her even more attention during season 7.

Fireworks Incoming
After her romance with RJ came to a hurtful end, Amanda started dating again. Recently, Amanda posted a TikTok in which she announced her relationship with a new man. After dating for three months, Amanda finally felt like she could go public with her relationship. Despite the many romantic disappointments, hope springs eternal for the 1000-lb Sisters season 6 star.
Little is known about Leonard, and it’s unclear how he and Amanda met.
Both Amanda and Tammy have referred to Leonard as their new manager, but it’s unclear if he has experience managing reality television talent. With Amanda getting more screen time during 1000-lb Sisters season 6, her star has been on the rise, and she could use a good manager. Since Leonard has only been dating Amanda for three months, and he already has so much power in her life, he could also appear in 1000-lb Sisters season 7.

Amanda & Tammy Made Up
Their Feud Almost Destroyed Everything
The trouble between Tammy and Amanda started over a rental agreement. Tammy was living in a house owned by Amanda, and the 1000-lb Sisters season 6 star alleges Amanda didn’t take care of home repairs in a timely or professional manner. Tensions came to a head during an on-camera family meeting, where Tammy and Amanda’s feud turned ugly. Tammy stormed out and said Amanda was dead to her.
Tammy and Amanda didn’t speak for several months after the fight.
After several months, their youngest sister, Amy, had enough of Tammy and Amanda’s fight and decided to do something about it. She planned a dinner and insisted that both sisters attend. The entire 1000-lb Sisters clan gathered around Amy’s table, and Tammy and Amanda finally made amends. Amy used to be the hot-headed one, but now she’s the family peacemaker, so she may like sharing the spotlight with Amanda.
She’s Working On Her Brand
Amanda got a lot more screen time during 1000-lb Sisters season 6 because she’s an extremely entertaining person. In addition to being opinionated and hot-headed, Amanda is also playful and hilarious. Since she’s taken a bigger role on the show, her social media presence has increased exponentially. Amanda May Have Confirmed The New Season
“Stay Tuned”
Amanda is very accessible on social media. The 1000-lb Sisters star loves to do Q&A sessions where she picks out questions from the comment section. During a recent one on Instagram, Amanda made comments that could mean she thinks the show has a future. A fan in the comment section asked Amanda for recent photos of the Slaton siblings. The fan was curious about how they looked recently and wanted to know if any of Amanda’s siblings had the skin removal surgery they wanted.
“I’d love to see how you all look now,” read the comment.
The fan went on to ask Amanda if any of the Slatons had skin removal surgery. Amanda explained they weren’t allowed to share recent photos due to the non-disclosure agreements they’d all signed with the production company. “But please stay tuned,” said Amanda, “because the best is always yet to come.” Amanda’s comment about the future of the show suggests that 1000-lb Sisters hadn’t been canceled yet.

Amanda’s Weight-Loss Journey
She Had Revision Surgery In 2023
Gastric bypass patients often need revision surgery, and that’s what happened to Amanda. She had surgery for the first time in 2017, and she went in for revision surgery with a different doctor in March 2023. During 1000-lb Sisters season 6, Amanda weighed in at the doctor’s office and was disappointed to see the results. At her last weigh-in, Amanda weighed 299 pounds; at her most recent weigh-in, the scale read 268 pounds.
Amanda plateaued after her second surgery.
An unfortunate knee injury was the reason behind Amanda’s weight-loss plateau. The playful mother of four was stepping off a swing set at her local park when she injured her knee. She thought nothing of it at first but was later surprised to find out she needed surgery. Being unable to move around much made it impossible for Amanda to maintain her weight-loss goals. Despite the setback, the 1000-lb Sisters star is determined and got back on track in pursuit of her health and fitness goals, which will no doubt take center stage next season.

Tammy Could Leave Kentucky
Amanda Would Need To Step In As A Replacement
During 1000-lb Sisters season 6, Tammy repeatedly threatened to move away from Kentucky. After years of relying on her family, she finally wanted to flex her hard-earned independence. The Slatons are close-knit, which can be suffocating for Tammy. It’s possible she was just venting, but if Tammy did leave Kentucky, Amanda could easily step in as the star.
Amanda’s journey is just getting started.
During 1000-lb Sisters season 6, Amanda and Tammy had a big fight, after which they didn’t speak for several months. Their conflict highlighted just how similar the two sisters are. If Tammy leaves Kentucky, Amanda could easily step in and replace her as one of the show’s main focal points. Though it wouldn’t be the same as having Tammy on the show, it’s better than letting the show get canceled.
