The most popular movies on Netflix are a fickle beast, and not even Netflix can predict what’s going to break out among subscribers.
But we can’t say we’re too surprised to see Nicolas Cage break into the list with Pig, Neon’s indie sensation about a man who will do anything to reclaim his stolen pet.
Animated hits like Despicable Me 4 have remained a constant presence on Netflix’s top 10 list. But the Watch With Us team wants to offer readers a little more variety as we head into the weekend.
To help you make your choices, we’ve selected the three popular Netflix movies that you should watch right now.
‘Pig’ (2021)
Sometimes, Nicolas Cage just needs a chance to remind everyone why he’s one of the best actors of his generation. Pig gave Cage that opportunity when he was cast as Robin “Rob” Feld, a man who used to be an elite chef. Now, Rob passes his days hunting for truffles alongside his beloved pig. Or at least he did until someone stole the pig from him.
Rob’s not the kind of guy to go the full John Wick on his attackers, but he’s also not going to back down from a fight. Even when his life is threatened, Rob makes it clear that he won’t abandon his pig, and there’s going to be hell to pay if anyone stands in his way of their reunion.

‘Instant Family’ (2018)
The Last of Us season 2 standout Isabela Merced is one of the stars of Instant Family, a dramedy that’s currently catching fire on Netflix’s movie chart. Merced plays Elizabeth, a teenager who is up for adoption by Pete (Mark Wahlberg) and Ellie Wagner (Rose Byrne). The Wagners are so enthusiastic about bringing Elizabeth into their lives that they also adopt her two younger siblings, Lita (Julianna Gamiz) and Juan (Gustavo Escobar).
All three of the children are a handful, and Elizabeth most of all, as she seems to be sabotaging her relationship with the Wagners. And just as Pete and Ellie are questioning their path forward, the children’s birth mother, Carla (Joselin Reyes), decides that she wants them back.

‘Havoc’ (2025)
There’s a glaring lack of action in Netflix’s top 10 movies at the moment. Fortunately, Havoc is sticking around on the list to give fans their action fix. Tom Hardy leads the cast as Detective Patrick Walker, a man who doesn’t have a good reputation among his fellow cops. Walker is also on the payroll of Lawrence Beaumont (Forest Whitaker), a wealthy man who might be the next mayor.
When Lawrence’s son, Charlie (Justin Cornwell), and Charlie’s girlfriend, Mia (Quelin Sepulveda), are endangered, Lawrence orders Patrick to find them and protect them. That means stepping into a civil war between the Chinese Triad, since Charlie and Mia have been framed for killing the Triad’s leaders.
