WORLD OF TOMORROW — GeekTyrant

DC Studios has been on the hunt for a director to take on Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, and Cruella and I Tonya filmmaker Craig Gillespie is now in talks to the film for Warner Bros.

According to the report, DC is looking to shoot the movie after James Gunn is finished shooting Superman. So, Supergirl will be the next DC film to go into production.

House of the Dragon’s Milly Alcock is set to play Supergirl, and it’s safe to assume that she will fist appear in Gunn’s Superman movie.

Gunn said of the casting: “Milly is a fantastically talented young actor, and I’m incredibly excited about her being a part of the DCU. Yes, I first became aware of her in House of the Dragon, but I was blown away by her varied auditions and screen tests for Supergirl. She embodies Kara as envisioned by Tom King and Ana Nogueira.”

The story details that are shared there are from the DC comic book Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, by writer Tom King. In that story: “Kara Zor-El has seen some epic adventures over the years, but she now finds her life without meaning or purpose. Here she is, a young woman who saw her planet destroyed and was sent to Earth to protect a baby cousin who ended up not needing her. What was it all for?”

Wherever she goes, “people only see her through the lens of Superman’s fame. Just when Supergirl thinks she’s had enough, everything changes. An alien girl seeks her out for a vicious mission. Her world has been destroyed, and the bad guys responsible are still out there.”

She wants revenge, “and if Supergirl doesn’t help her, she’ll do it herself, whatever the cost. Now a Kryptonian, a dog, and an angry, heartbroken child head out into space on a journey that will shake them to their very core.”

Gillespie seems like a great choice to take on the Supergirl movie. What do you all think?
