The end of Loki Season 2 seemed to bring a definitive close to Loki’s TVA adventure story, but a lot of fans are still wondering if the story will continue with a third season. The first season of Loki ended with a post-credits screen confirming that “Loki will return in Season 2.” But when Loki Season 2 ended, there wasn’t an end tag saying that Loki would be back for Season 3.
So what does the future hold for the TVA and Loki? Series co-executive producer Kevin Wright shared that they are thinking of ways to continue these stories, telling CB:
“We are certainly thinking about how we can continue to tell TVA and Loki base stories. What I would say is, Season 1 and Season 2 were always conceived as two chapters of the same book. We want to close this book. I think there’s a lot more books on the shelf, though.”
So, the door is definitely open to more stories based on this series, but I’d also like to think that the events of this series will bleed into other projects. For example, I would love for Thor to learn what Loki has done to save the multiverse. There’s a very interesting story to be told there, but I have no idea if it will ever be told. Marvel tends to set up these grand MCU-changing storylines and then never really revisit them. I hope that doesn’t happen with Loki.
