Netflix has dropped a badass teaser trailer for a new action dark comedy action series titled The Brothers Sun, which stars Michelle Yeoh. The series follows a Taipei gangster named Charles Sun, who’s settled into his life as a ruthless killer. But when his father is shot by a mysterious assassin, Charles must go to L.A. to protect his mother and utterly unaware younger brother Bruce.
The series was co-created by Brad Falchuk and Byron Wu and looks extremely fun, and it’s also going to be filled with a lot of wicked awesome martial arts action!
In the story, “When the head of a powerful Taiwanese triad is shot by a mysterious assassin, his eldest son, legendary killer Charles “Chairleg” Sun (Justin Chien) heads to Los Angeles to protect his mother, Eileen (Michelle Yeoh), and his naive younger brother, Bruce (Sam Song Li) — who’s been completely sheltered from the truth of his family until now. But as Taipei’s deadliest societies and a new rising faction go head-to-head for dominance — Charles, Bruce and their mother must heal the wounds caused by their separation and figure out what brotherhood and family truly mean before one of their countless enemies kills them all.”
The series also stars Highdee Kuan, Joon Lee, Alice Hewkin, Jon Xue Zhang, Jenny Yang, Madison Hu, and Rodney To. Netflix debuts The Brothers Sun series on January 4, 2024.
