Why Fans Think Dorothy Will Appear

Fans are buzzing with theories about Dorothy’s possible inclusion in Wicked Part 2. While no official announcements have been made, subtle clues and past adaptations have sparked speculation about her role in the sequel.

Here is why fans think Dorothy will appear in Wicked Part 2.

Will Dorothy be in Wicked Part 2?

There’s no official word yet on whether Dorothy will appear in Wicked Part 2, but the possibility isn’t entirely ruled out.

While Dorothy doesn’t play a significant role in the Wicked storyline, her short cameo in the musical’s opening scene, “No One Mourns the Wicked,” could connect with the sequel’s ending. This setup raises questions about her inclusion.

Adding to the speculation are glimpses from trailers for the first Wicked film, which showed Dorothy meeting The Wizard. However, the scenes didn’t make the final cut. These moments might actually belong to Wicked: Part Two, hinting at a potential role for her.

Has Dorothy been cast for Wicked Part 2?

There has been no official confirmation of an actress being cast as Dorothy for Wicked: Part Two.

While Dorothy briefly appeared in Wicked marketing material, she remains uncredited in the film. This could mean her scenes were possibly created with CGI or filmed using a stand-in or extra. In the stage version, Dorothy’s role is minor, appearing only as a silhouette during the climactic moments of the story. However, the sequel offers the potential for a more expanded role. More details about her casting might surface as production continues.

Meanwhile, much of Wicked’s original cast will return for the sequel. This includes Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo) and Glinda (Ariana Grande) in the lead roles. Others include Fiyero (Jonathan Bailey), The Wizard (Jeff Goldblum), Madame Morrible (Michelle Yeoh), Boq (Ethan Slater), Nessarose (Marissa Bode), and Pfannee (Bowen Yang).

While the first part debuted recently, Wicked Part 2 is slated for release in November 2025 release.
