One of my favourite scenes is when Skeeter’s mother rips Hilly a new one in the movie The Help. In this scene, Hilly comes to confront Skeeter about the book she wrote and complain to Mrs. Phelan about her daughter. Instead of chastising her daughter, Mrs. Phelan tells Hilly to “Get your raggedy ass off my porch”, as well as a few other choice words. Allison Janney’s delivery (Mrs. Phelan) is stone-cold. Bryce Dallas Howard (Hilly) does a phenomenal job of playing such a repulsive character.
