Update []: A full “completed trailer” for the LEGO James Bond game by TT Games has now been uploaded. It was supposedly codenamed “Project Gold” (thanks, The LEGO Videogame Museum on X):

Original Story: The LEGO video games have tapped all sorts of IP over the years, but one project that never did see the light of day was a James Bond entry.

TT Games was at one point working on its own brick-based spin-off of the 007 franchise and now footage of this pitch has surfaced online. It shows the famous agent in many iconic scenes facing off against characters like Oddjob and Jaws, driving a variety of different vehicles and utilising all sorts of gadgets.

Ultimately, The LEGO Group didn’t feel the IP was “suitable” as a LEGO game and the mission to adapt this series to the brick world ended. Although this video was discovered within data of LEGO Dimensions, this pitch was apparently for a standalone project.

Although it looks like 007 might have missed out on a LEGO video game adaptation, LEGO actually did release a new game earlier this month in the form of LEGO Horizon Adventures. We awarded it 6 out of 10 – calling it a “beautiful but basic build of Sony’s series”.

If you are still wanting a LEGO or James Bond fix, you could always replay GoldenEye 007 via the Switch Online + Expansion Pack service, or check out our LEGO game guide – covering IP such as Star Wars, Marvel, and even original LEGO games.
