1997 marked the beginning of one of the most famous celebrity love stories of modern times.
After being catapulted to fame with the Spice Girls, Victoria decided to attend a football match with her bandmate Mel C.
What she didn’t know is that she’d end up falling in love with one of the players on the field: David Beckham.
“I wasn’t into football then, I’m not into football now. But I’d seen pictures of him in magazines, and he was obviously a very good-looking boy,” Victoria confessed in the Beckham docuseries.
“The fact I went to the games really was just to kind of, some would say ‘stalk’ him.”
Meanwhile, David also had seen the Spice Girls star, revealing in his docuseries years later he had joked he would marry “the posh one” after seeing the group perform on TV.
In a 2016 letter to British Vogue, Victoria wrote “love at first sight does exist” after that fateful first encounter with her future husband.
