US: Kraft Mac & Cheese collabs with Nintendo and Super Mario

Through a press release on Business Wire, the Kraft Heinz Company announced that it has worked with Nintendo to release “Kraft Mac & Cheese Super Mario Power-Up Shapes” all across America. Celebrating the 30 year anniversary of the Kraft Mac & Cheese Shapes lineup of products, it’s the latest of Kraft’s collabs with famous and beloved IPs. The pasta will take the shapes of Mushrooms, Super Stars, and Fire Flowers from the Super Mario series, and will come in the classic Kraft blue box, as well as in a 4-pack of Easy Mac cups.

The Fortune 500 food company is also home to other brands beyond Kraft and Heinz, including Kool-Aid, Capri-Sun, Lunchables, and Velveeta. Nintendo has previously collaborated with Capri-Sun and Lunchables, as well as with Oreo. While Oreo is not owned by Kraft Heinz, it is owned by another Fortune 500 company, Mondelēz International, which used to be under the Kraft branding until 2012. Both Kraft Heinz and Mondelēz International are big players on the food and grocery scene, and each make over $26 billion in revenue annually, which would explain why Nintendo has relied on them for their collabs time and time again.
