Tops Check Out Hunger campaign to benefit Feedmore WNY

Feedmore Western New York is looking for help to combat food insecurity locally through Tops Friendly Markets’ annual Check Out Hunger campaign.

Tops customers can donate $2, $3, $5 or any amount at the register to support FeedMore WNY’s programs, which include its home-delivered meal program, RISE workforce development program and its food bank distribution network.

“We are committed to helping battle food insecurity and couldn’t do it without the wonderful donations of food and funding we receive during our front end campaigns like Check Out Hunger and Food 2 Families. We ask that if you are able, please continue to help support your fellow neighbors in need next time you check out at Tops,” Ron Ferri, Tops president, said. “Making a contribution to the Check Out Hunger Campaign is easy. When shopping at Tops, simply tell your cashier you’d like to help Tops Check Out Hunger and a donation of $2, $3, or $5 will help provide food for your local food bank. Every donation makes a difference.”

The campaign runs through February 10. Additionally, Price Rite Marketplace will run its Check Out Hunger campaign through Feb. 11.

“Everyone needs nutritious food to thrive. Unfortunately, thousands of our Western New York neighbors experience food insecurity, including the nearly 200,000 individuals who rely on FeedMore WNY. Initiatives like Check Out Hunger make it possible for FeedMore WNY to provide nutritious food to community members of all ages, helping to pave the way for better health and success,” Lisa Woodring, executive vice president of External Affairs for FeedMore WNY, said.
