If you are looking to solve today’s Connections puzzle, you might need a hint or two to help you get to the end of it without using up your guesses. There are many ways to think about in every puzzle, and you have to pay close attention to get past the tricks waiting for you. Today’s puzzle was a little more challenging but not too bad. Whenever you have a weirder final category, it always makes it a little harder to figure out. However, with the right hints you should be able to get the puzzle without missing the chance to win the puzzle. Today, you should be able to get to the end of the puzzle with just a couple of nudges, but there are still spoilers if you need them.

- One category is about a framed time
- One category is about things you use with a particular tool
- One category is about four words that are all the same type of creature but with something extra added to the word itself

This category is about things that are WORKING well enough to do their job. I think ACTIVE is the hardest one to add in, as it has a slightly different connotation than the others. I don’t think it’s so different that it would belong anywhere else either, but it was the one I added in last and was a little worried about before I saw it was a successful guess. Once you have this one down, you can start working toward the rest of the categories.

This was the first category I got today, mainly because they all had a time connotation that nothing else really did. I will say that SITTING was worrying me, and I just hoped it was right when I submitted the guess. Luckily, it was right and I could breathe a little easier. SITTING does have a definition that means something close to an appointment, much like a MEETING, so it wasn’t out of the question, but I was a little concerned anyway.

This one was a bit of a wild guess, although it ended up paying off. I originally had in mind that some of these words could be different types of cameras. While I didn’t think LENS and STRAP were cameras in and of themselves, I had nothing else to go on and these words were at least camera-adjacent. In the end, it was a lucky bit of instinct on my part and I felt relieved and quite happy at the circumstance. That left only four words in the puzzle, meaning I was going to be able to finish without any issue.

This is one of the weird categories that change what the words look like. It makes it much more difficult to guess it ahead of time, but that just means you have to get the other three categories without messing up. Luckily this time, none of the different words in this one were close enough to the other categories to mess with my solving too much. However, it wouldn’t be the first time this kind of category ruined my Connections streak for that week.
