Since last year’s Hellfire Gala, Earth’s mutants have become public enemies and hunted like they have never been before. The chips may seem down and the future bleak, but in Fall of the House of X #3, Rogue rallies the troops for one final assault on Orchis with an amazing call to arms.
Fall of the House of X #3 is written by Gerry Duggan and drawn by Lucac Werneck and Jethro Morales. On Arrako, Apocalypse has gathered an army of mutants, readying them for the final battle.
Rogue and Manifold then arrive, with SWORD Station Two in tow. After one final speech, the mutants board the station, ready to take back Krakoa. Manifold then teleports the station back into Earth orbit, right next to its twin station. As it appears, it crosses over Station One, creating a giant X in the sky. Apocalypse then leads the charge against Orchis.

It Is A Call to Arms For the X-Men and Other Mutants
Rogue’s signal is the culmination of a concerted effort by Earth’s mutants to take back their homeland of Krakoa. The island paradise, once home to the mutants, was attacked by Orchis during the last Hellfire Gala. Some mutants were killed and many more went into exile in space. Orchis then begins rounding up any surviving mutants, herding them into gulags and camps named for prominent enemies of mutantkind, such as William Stryker or Henry Gyrich. Just as Orchis has been fighting a multi-front war, so have the mutants, and now they are ready to strike.
Rogue could not have picked a better symbol to announce the X-Men were returning to avenge their fallen brethren. Orchis has been engaged in a battle for the minds and hearts of humanity, using psychological tactics and outright propaganda to intimidate and hurt mutants, and the aforementioned gulags named after mutant enemies are the perfect example of this trick. The X-Men have been pushed and dogged enough over the years, and Earth’s mutants have co-opted the X symbol as a means of saying enough is enough.

Throughout the X-Men’s Krakoan era, a central theme emerged: when mutants put aside their differences and work for the greater good, amazing things can happen, and this is on display in Fall of the House of X #3. Despite their pain and grief, the X-Men have rallied together for one last stand against Orchis, and they have no better leaders than Rogue, Apocalypse and Manifold. As seen in this issue, the united mutants easily lay waste to Orchis’ facilities and personnel. Brought together by Rogue’s new take on the X symbol, the X-Men are ready to rise again.
