The Traitors UK season 2 introduced a brand-new cast of competitors to the series and much like the first season, many were curious if there was a familial relationship in the cast between Diane and Paul. Tom, a magician who was hoping to keep his persuasive abilities under wraps, and Alex, a host and actress who didn’t choose to share her profession in the game, were in a relationship long before going on The Traitors UK, but chose to keep their relationship a secret to the rest of the cast.

Unfortunately for Tom and Alex, their romantic relationship got revealed when, in a heated moment, Tom shared that Alex was his girlfriend to protect her. The Traitors UK season 1 contestants were both hopeful they could continue to earn the trust of their fellow competitors by being open and honest about their relationship and the reasons they’d kept it quiet, but both were eliminated quickly thereafter. While there aren’t romantic entanglements on The Traitors UK season 2, many were curious about any sort of personal pre-existing relationships there could be in the cast, especially when the players began to guess.

Several Players Were Curious If Paul Was Diane’s Son

Within the first days of the competition, many players began to wonder if there would be a pre-existing relationship of some variety in the game. Though Tom and Alex had been a part of The Traitors UK season 1 and host Claudia Winkleman told the cast not to expect anything that had happened in the prior season, the players were still curious if they’d be faced with a duo in the game. Several players brought up the idea that Paul, a redhead, may be Diane’s son as they had similar features. While Paul thought it was laughable, he brought the information to Diane so she was aware of the accusations.

Diane laughed off the accusations that Paul was her son easily, sharing that her hair was actually brown, but she dyed it red. The pair shared a laugh about the idea that they could be related, Paul explaining that Diane did remind him of his mother in some ways. In a confessional segment, Diane shared that Paul wasn’t her child, but her actual son was playing the game with her. The Traitors UK cast member Ross, a 28-year-old Video Director from Lancashire, is Diane’s actual son and has been playing the game alongside his mother in secret.

The Gameplan For The Mother/Son Duo Was To Stay Discrete

Although The Traitors UK season 2’s Diane was playing the game alongside her son Ross, she laughed off the allegations she could have a child playing the game with her. During her interview segment, she shared that she wanted to come into the game with her son and keep it a secret, knowing that revealing the nature of a close relationship would make both her and Ross look untrustworthy. While some of the faithful of The Traitors UK season 2 still voted for Diane during the initial round table, she and Ross were able to get through unscathed and with their secret intact.
