Jen Boecher and Rishi Singh were together on 90 Day Diaries but in real life, Rishi is already married to a different woman. 90 Day Fiancé star Jen and Rishi had met during one of her many trips to India where she bumped into the model and personal trainer in a hotel lobby in 2019. Jen and Rishi had developed a friendship over a couple of weeks but got romantically involved, after which Rishi proposed to Jen. However, Rishi never told his family he was engaged. Jen found out that Rishi was hiding his engagement when she moved to India to marry him two years later.

Jen was born and raised in New Orleans but was living in New York when she filmed 90 Day Diaries. She said that Rishi’s mom had still not accepted her because of her age. From her perspective, she and Rishi were not engaged, but she said Rishi believed they were engaged. Rishi made it look like he was not going to give up on his American partner. Rishi was proudly showing Jen off to the world via his romantic Instagram Reels. That’s why news of Jen and Rishi’s split came as a shock to those familiar with their storyline.

Rishi’s Mom Didn’t Accept Jenny & Rishi’s Age Gap

Jen had infamously had a meltdown on the 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way season 4 Tell All over being age-shamed by Rishi’s mom (via ET.) Hearing Rishi’s mom Shimla say, “She’s too old for you” over and over again, broke Jen’s heart. “Like, f*** you,” she told a producer, wiping away tears and added, “Like, you said it. It’s not nice, you acknowledged it’s not nice, yet you keep repeating it.” Jen even insulted Rishi’s mom in front of him by FaceTiming Rishi to say, “She thinks I’m too old, you know, and I’m like, f**k*her, OK?”

Jen Not Wanting A Baby Was A Dealbreaker For Rishi

Jen had told Rishi she was never going to hear comments about her age from Shimla ever again, or she was “never, never” going to speak to him again. Rishi had tried to convince Jen that his mom didn’t know how to talk to people since she was “just a proper housewife.” However, Jen’s age had a lot to do with Rishi not being able to have his own baby like he wanted. Jen told her friend Randi that Rishi wanted both of them to go for IVF. Jen said she always wanted to adopt and that’s what Rishi wanted when they met.

“It’s kind of messed up. I feel like he kind of went from one thing to another,” she added. According to Jen, it was Rishi’s way of telling his mom that even if Jen was older, she was still able to have kids. Randi told Jen, that Rishi was using her body to prove a point. She kept delaying the appointment by saying, “yes” and never following up with it. Moreover, Rishi had not told his family that he wanted a child with Jen and was marrying her. Randi knew Jen and Rishi were going to have a child to force his family to accept her.

Rishi Is Now Married To Maria Ramirez

“If I can’t produce a child is that like, okay we can’t proceed as a couple? Is this a dealbreaker for him?” Jen asked the 90 Day Diaries cameras. Rishi announced his split with Jen in a November 2023 Instagram update. He wrote that the two of them had decided to amicably split because it was the “right” decision for them at that time. Meanwhile, Jen asked viewers not to believe Rishi’s claims and claimed that he was dating a franchise cast member and was going to get engaged to them. Interestingly, Rishi shocked everyone by getting married to Maria Ramirez on February 2, 2024.
