If you love college stories but have never heard of the sitcom “Community,” now is the time to change that. The series by showrunner Dan Harmon (“Rick and Morty”) tells about the events taking place within the walls of the unusual Greendale College, where representatives of various ages, nationalities, and religions are hunting for higher education. The main characters, radically different from each other, learn to find a common language, getting into various, sometimes absurd and terribly funny situations. When creating the series, the showrunner was inspired by his own experience of studying at a real-life college in the city of Greendale.
“Community” has everything but what you might expect from a sitcom. There is a mixture of genres, an abundance of diverse characters, crazy scenery, and jokes that make you remember your favorite “Friends” or “The Office.” Its important feature is also the many references to pop culture and the frequent use of parody and play on various clichés. The series has a total of six seasons, but in 2022, it became known that work on the first full-length film, “Community,” would begin. Its premiere date is still unknown.
Greek
“Greek” follows the lives of students at the fictional Cyprus Rhodes University. All students here are divided into fraternities and sororities. Most of the main characters belong to one of three fictional houses: Kappa Tau Gamma (ΚΤΓ), Omega Chi Delta (ΩΧΔ), and Zeta Beta Zeta (ΖΒΖ).
