EXCLUSIVE: The Outlaws producer Massive Discuss Studios is growing its first TV thriller, a high-stakes collection a couple of drug-smuggling submarine.
Massive Discuss boss Kenton Allen described Vulture as a cross between Beneath Deck and Narcos.
Penned by BAFTA-nominated Cyberbully author David Lobatto, the collection, which is being developed in affiliation with ITV Studios, follows the crew on-board a ‘narco-sub’ on its approach to ship a $200 million payload of base cocaine to the Albanian mob. After a deadly journey throughout the Atlantic, the sub is ambushed by a rival cartel. Following a slim escape with their cargo intact, however with a severely broken submarine, the crew discover themselves marooned in the midst of the Adriatic Sea.
Allen, who’s EPing alongside Luke Alkin, known as Vulture a “extremely dynamic, action-packed collection that we all know will lower by on this very crowded market and thrill audiences all over the world with this final culture-clash excessive stakes drama.” The collection is but to land a community and casting shall be introduced sooner or later.
Lobatto wrote BAFTA-nominated Channel 4 drama Cyberbully and has written scripts for Michael Mann, George Clooney and Grant Heslov’s Smokehouse Photos, and Colin Callender’s Playground.
Massive Discuss is in manufacturing on a 3rd season of Stephen Service provider’s BBC/Amazon Prime Video collection The Outlaws, a Noel Fielding-starring Apple TV+ comedy about Dick Turpin and the BBC’s Ludwig with David Mitchell. The outfit not too long ago rebranded from Massive Discuss Productions and MD Matthew Justice exited to Sony after 16 years.
