The Mandalorian & Grogu’ Adds Jeremy Allen White

The Star Wars Mandalorian & Grogu movie has added The Bear star Jeremy Allen White, Deadline has confirmed. It’s a notably sized role; no cameo here.

White joins already cast Pedro Pascal, who plays Mando, and Ghostbusters actress Sigourney Weaver. Jon Favreau directs and co-wrote with Dave Filoni. The movie hits theaters on May 22, 2026.

Favreau and Filoni dropped footage from the movie back at D23 in August at the Honda Center in Anaheim. That footage showed off Babu Frick returning, and a snowy planet that looked a lot like Hoth from 1980’s Empire Strikes Back, complete with huge AT-ATs stomping around. For those who forgot, those the four legged armored machines the bad guys have. Also starring in the first feature take of a Disney+ series is the red alien, pointy eared Zeb from the animated series Star Wars: Rebels.

The 2x Emmy Winner White received his third Golden Globe nomination today for Male Actor in a TV Series, Musical or Comedy for the FX series. He’s already won twice, back to back in the category for The Bear.

Lucasfilm had no comment. The InSneider had the news.
