THE LITTLEST FIGHTER vows to take down a fighting legend
Though Ash may be little, he definitely will make his presence known in The Littlest Fighter. The latest new work from Eisner Award nominee Joey Weiser is perfect for those looking to read about someone who beats the odds.
Published by Oni Press, The Littlest Fighter revolves around a novice fighter named Ash who, despite being the size of a human kid, is able to defeat champions larger than him. But of all of the people he’s fought and beaten, Ash has his eyes set on the Legendary Champion, a fighter who disappeared right when he was at the top of his game. Despite his new friend’s Dot’s urging that he stop battling, Ash is determined to find the Legendary Champion and learn why he left fighting behind him.
Weiser has written a number of books including Dragon Racer, which was nominated for Georgia Author of the Year for “Young Adult.” Ghost Hog, which was nominated for the Kids’ Comics Award for “Most Epic Adventure,” and the Mermin graphic novel series, also published by Oni Press which was nominated for the Eisner Award.
“Ash is a little guy with huge goals. And he packs quite a punch!” Weiser said. “Playing with scale was one of my big challenges when creating this book, and I think it makes Ash’s accomplishments that much more impactful. However, we will also see that Ash’s actions have unexpected consequences.”
What unexpected consequences? While the book won’t be out until the spring, for now, readers can check out the preview here:
