The best games from GameStop’s buy 2, get 1 free sale

GameStop is currently offering a buy two, get one free sale on its entire catalog of pre-owned titles. Add three eligible games to your cart, and the cheapest one will be free. The pre-owned prices on most of these games aren’t much lower than what you’d pay for a new copy, but the inclusion of a free game and plenty of new releases to choose from makes this worth checking out.

While you don’t need to be a GameStop Pro member to take advantage of this deal, Pro members do save 5% on all pre-owned and digital game purchases in addition to a variety of other cool benefits. This sale has hundreds of eligible titles to choose from, but we’ve picked out a handful of recommendations including Princess Peach: Showtime!, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, Rise of the Rōnin, and more.

Princess Peach Showtime! is the first time the royal lady of the house of toadstool has starred in her own game since 2005. Centering around Peach’s various outfits that grant her different abilities, the gameplay will otherwise feel very familiar to fans of the Super Mario franchise.

Take on the role of a vigilante samurai in Rise of the Ronin, an open-world soulslike set in 19th-century Japan. While clearly inspired by Team Ninja’s previous titles, like Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and Ghosts of Tsushima, Rise of the Ronin offers a more realistic take on the brutal, hack and slash experience.

A fitting capstone for the Nintendo Switch, Super Mario Bros. Wonder is a trippy, new take on the classic 2D platformer. Featuring the largest cast of characters in any side-scrolling Mario game, Wonder includes plenty of fun surprises, even for seasoned veterans of the franchise.

Capcom’s open-world fantasy RPG, Dragon’s Dogma 2 offers spectacular vistas, a massive world to explore, and monsters to slay. It’s dangerous to go alone, but Dragon’s Dogma 2 also features a unique take on cooperative gameplay by allowing you to recruit characters other players have made as NPCs.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth builds on the foundation of Final Fantasy 7 Remake, taking Cloud Strife and the rest of his crew beyond Midgar to regions filled with new minigames and quests. Rebirth remasters the 1997 JRPG classic with overhauled graphics and enhanced gameplay while leaving the story elements untouched.

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is the most successful reinvention of the classic Ubisoft franchise since 2003’s Sands of Time, reframing the platforming prince as a vivid Metroidvania.
