The Bear Season 4 Filming Update Given by FX Chairman
A new The Bear Season 4 update is here courtesy of FX‘s chairman, revealing that a large majority of the show’s fourth season has actually been filmed already.
Speaking during an appearance on The Town with Matthew Belloni podcast, FX chairman John Landgraf was asked about The Bear Season 4. Landgraf revealed that filming for the fourth season had already mostly occurred, and that out of 20 total episodes comprising Seasons 3 and 4, more than half were done.
“Out of twenty episodes, they shot about sixteen and a half. So they can go back in production in February to finish,” said Landgraf.
The news seems to confirm reports from earlier this year that The Bear Season 4 was filmed concurrently with Season 3, something that seemed up in the air after the premiere of the third season. Although the fourth season isn’t fully done just yet, the fact that only three and a half episodes (assuming there are 10 episodes in Season 4) are left means we may not have to wait long for it to return.
What do we know about The Bear Season 4?
Currently, not a whole lot is known about The Bear Season 4, other than it’ll likely pick up right where Season 3 ends, with Carmen (Jeremy Allen White) getting the news that a major review for his restaurant had been published, while Sydney (Ayo Edebiri) contemplates leaving for another business.
The Bear Season 3 premiered on June 27 on Hulu with ten new episodes. The comedy-drama also stars Jeremy Allen White, Ayo Edebiri Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Abby Elliott, Lionel Boyce, Liza Colón-Zayas, Edwin Lee Gibson, and Matty Matheson. Further details about the third installment’s plot and new characters remained under wraps.
Edebiri directed one of Season 3’s episodes, which served as her directorial debut. It is executive produced by Christopher Storer, Joanna Calo, Hiro Murai, Nate Matteson, and Josh Senior.
