Teezo Touchdown Meets His ‘Favorite Rapper’ Lil Flip At Austin Show

Austin, TX –

Teezo Touchdown has enjoyed a steady rise to stardom over the past year, and he recently had the pleasure of meeting one of his favorite Hip Hop artists.

During a recent interview on the Rap Radar Podcast, the 31-year-old made it known that Lil Flip is his favorite rapper and that he always looked up to the “Sunshine” hitmaker for repping Texas.

On Friday (November 24), a day after Teezo’s show in Austin, Flip took to social media to express his appreciation for the genre-bending up-and-comer while also revealing that they linked up after the performance.

“SO MY BROTHER @fatheplug TOLD ME ABOUT THIS YOUNG ARTIST NAMED @teezotouchdown FROM #BEAUMONT #TEXAS WHO SAID IM HIS FAVORITE RAPPER,” the rap vet wrote on Instagram along with pictures of his meeting with Teezo. “SO I REACHED OUT AND TOLD HIM THANK YOU [prayer-hand emoji] AND DECIDED TO PULL UP TO HIS SHOW IN #AUSTIN WIT @travisscott LASTNITE!!

“WE CHOPPED IT UP AND HE SAID HE LOVE @bigshasta713 [clover emoji] SO I FACE TIMED HIM AND LET THEM TALK!! IT DONT MATTER WHO U ARE NEVER [thumbs-down emoji] LOSE FAITH [prayer-hand emoji] CUZ #WINNERSWIN.”

Lil Flip is far from the only rapper who has endorsed Teezo Touchdown. Earlier this year, Teezo received a huge co-sign from Drake prior to the release of his debut album How Do You Sleep at Night?

In mid-August, Drizzy shared a series of photos on social media hyping up the rookie’s project, which has since made waves across the industry.

“Usually it’s a cut throat cryptic caption for the ones that turned on the gang members but tonight I just heard some of the best music ever so I am happy and I will spare you little birdies thanks to @teezotouchdown,” Drake wrote in his post.

The 14-song LP was released the following month to critical acclaim, and featured guest spots from Janelle Monáe, Fousheé and Isaiah Rusk.

Then, in October, Teezo enjoyed another huge boost after making not one but two appearances on Drake’s chart-topping album For All the Dogs, lending his soulful singing voice to “Amen” and “7696 Santa.”

The Texas native previously made a cameo on Tyler, The Creator‘s Call Me If You Get Lost, which also topped the Billboard 200 back in 2021 while winning a Grammy for Best Rap Album.
