Swifties, we’re so close. It’s almost time for the new album to drop and we couldn’t be more excited (terrified).

Taylor Swift’s new album The Tortured Poets Department is set to drop at 2pm AEST, and the singer has been dropping all kinds of clues as to what we can expect.

Before it’s even hit streaming services, TTPD has already broken a Spotify record, so we can only imagine the storm that’s about to hit.

Earlier this week, Swift announced a music video would be released a few hours after the album, and this morning she announced which track it would be for.

The first single of the album is Fortnight featuring Post Malone, and Swift posted a short clip earlier today of the music video set to hit our screens at 10am tomorrow morning.

Swift’s Grammys look

The Fearless singer announced she was releasing a new album at the 2024 Grammys, after taking to the red carpet in a white gown with a choker and black opera gloves.

The first thing fans pointed out in her latest post was that it seems Swift is wearing that exact same dress in part of the music video.

She’s also wearing a choker reminiscent of the one she wore to the Grammys.

Clara Bow

The second track from Swift’s upcoming album is titled Clara Bow, presumably after the original Hollywood it girl.

It seems Swift is paying tribute to her in more than one way.

In the snippet released this morning, the singer seems to be styled almost identical to the silent film icon – everything from the lip and eye makeup down to the thin, drawn-on eyebrows.

Victorian mourning dress

For the majority of the video, Swift is wearing an extravagant black gown.

While plenty of fans saw this and related it back to the Victorian era in general, some even likening it to a gown worn by Hailee Steinfeld in the TV show Dickinson, others got right into the historical accuracy of the outfit.

It turns out the dress is reminiscent of a traditional Victorian mourning gown, with its decorative trimmings and ornate jewels around the collar.

Could it be a sign of Swift potentially mourning a past relationship? (We’re looking at you Joe Alwyn.)

Debut TV clues

This one might be a bit of a stretch, but we’re willing to make it.

It’s a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment, but there’s a snippet of the clip where Swift seems to be dressed as her Debut self (getting electrified?).

The singer is seen in a flowy gown with her long curly hair, something most fans associate with that era.

Maybe Debut TV is the next re-release, or maybe we’ve officially gone mad – only time will tell.
